Mustard seeds <br />1 sprig curry leaves <br />1 tomato, finely chopped <br />1 tsp. red chilli powder <br />1 tsp. coriander powder <br />Additional salt if required <br /> <br />Second tempering:- <br />1 tbsp. ghee <br />1 tsp. cumin seeds <br />1 tsp. red chilli powder <br />10 curry leaves <br />3 red chillies, dried <br /> <br />Coriander leaves <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Method:- <br />- In a pressure cooker add the dal, turmeric powder, salt and water. Pressure cook until 7 whistles are blown. <br />- In a pan heat ghee, mustard seeds, curry leaves, onions, salt and saute until the onions are golden brown. <br />- Now add crushed ginger-garlic-green chilli, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, asafoetida and chopped tomatoes. Let it cook for 4-5 minutes. <br />- Transfer the pressure cooked dal into this masala and mix properly and add water. <br />- Add coriander leaves and turn the flame off. <br />- In a Tadka Waati or small utensil, heat ghee and add cumin seeds, curry leaves, whole dried red chillies, red chilli powder and pour hot over the dal. <br />- Mix thoroughly and serve hot! <br /> <br /> <br />Dal Tadka is ready to serve! <br /> <br />HAPPY COOKING!!!
